Geotechnical Studies and Undercutting
Through the analysis of the composition and strength of soil and rock, CAM evaluates the characteristics of the ground for later, designing the foundations of the structure of a building, industrial plant, rack of pipelines, parking or any civil works.
Since its founding CAM has done plenty of geotechnical studies for all kinds of works. After a detailed study of the land it’s obtained the representative geotechnical parameters. Based on these all possible constructive solutions are studied and the most recommended are selected (foundations, demonstrated of ground, etc.), as well as the needs of the movements of the needed ground (slopes of excavation, drainage, etc.). First, the Geotechnical study requires a review of physical and geological mapping, aerial photography and an uprising and delimitation of the appropriate ground allowing to visualize the physical place where the civil work will be carried out.
Geological recognition is fundamentally based on trials of drilling with removal of cores and witnesses of the soil and/or underlying rock. Sampling with standard penetration is a very useful tool for its speed and cost. In addition, the soil pits quickly to help to understand the underlying materials.
